More 3D resin printed SM32 Wagons

Peter Butler talks about his latest work

Amongst the more recent additions to my SM32 garden railway stock collection I have scratch built a couple of coal wagons based on those running on the Ffestiniog Railway.  Prompted by a commercial 3D resin printed example I decided to build my own.

The first is a side tipping coal truck which I based on a photograph found on Google.

It is made from Plastikard (again!) which is my favourite building material.  My models are not designed to work, as in tip, open doors etc. as I prefer them to be stronger with no moving parts.

The next is another coal wagon from the FR which has (non working) hinged end doors.

The paint finish on both is with aerosol grey primer and Citadel Acrylics, dry-brushed for rust effect. A matt lacquer spray protects the paint and dry-print lettering.

The interiors have rust effect and real coal residue.
